“Ignite your light,” as you join Samapatti Yoga for a special tenth anniversary yoga and wellness retreat on the tranquil island of Nevis

Montpelier Plantation & Beach on Nevis, one of the smallest and most authentic of the leeward islands in the Caribbean, invites all yoga enthusiasts to attend its fall Yoga Retreat from October 28 to November 4, 2023.

Expert yoga and mindfulness coach Patti Coan will instruct yogis how to deepen their level of practice, as well as simply relax.

Coinciding with Coan’s tenth yoga anniversary, the luxury boutique hotel will host an all-level, seven-night yoga retreat to reinforce the importance of mind and body wellness.

Participants will salute the sun and practice other poses in Nevis-friendly settings – such as the mountain pose fronting majestic Nevis Peak and tree pose facing a swaying palm – within Montpelier’s tropical gardens that offer far-reaching views of the sea.

Coan, certified in Raja Yoga from the Himalayan Institute, is working with Montpelier to provide a retreat program emphasising the hotel’s holistic approach to hospitality, while also highlighting the island’s natural beauty and energy.

Samapatti Yoga is rooted in the science and philosophy of Raja Yoga, regarded as the supreme or royal path. Following the Himalayan tradition, the practice explores the union of body and mind through the breath. Ways of living, postures, breathing, relaxation, concentration and meditation are all incorporated into the practice. Having led past retreats in Anguilla, Costa Rica and Bali, Patti Coan invites Montpelier’s guests to train their minds on focusing and avoiding distractions.

Montpelier Plantation & Beach places particular emphasis on ‘living fully’, offering calming accommodation in 18 airy, bungalow-style suites and guestrooms. And when yogis aren’t perfecting the eagle pose, they can enjoy other feel-good activities, including use of a mosaic-tiled, freshwater pool; outdoor spa and Montpelier’s own secluded stretch of beach.

As good food is intrinsic to wellbeing, Executive Chef Halva Browne will create healthy meals from fresh, organic ingredients, garnished with local garden herbs and spices in three relaxing dining venues.

Sample of vegetarian dishes on the new retreat menu:
Butternut squash bisque
Fettuccini in fresh roasted tomato and coconut cream sauce
Crispy goat cheese salad
Saffron coconut creme brulee
